FUNDRAISERS TO HELP REBUILD:

RiverBabeThreads T-Shirts $15.99

The city of Rockford, MI experienced a huge community loss when the iconic Corner Bar burnt down on August 14th. The restaurant has been a staple in Rockford since 1935, and was housed in the downtown’s oldest brick building, constructed in 1873. Our immediate thoughts are with the members of our community who lost their jobs today. We spent the afternoon working with the police department and concerned citizens to organize a fundraiser. For many of the staff, unemployment may not be available because they were working as tipped or part-time employees. We are coordinating with other local businesses to provide some financial relief for these families. The manager is providing us with a count of staff members and we are using the funds raised to purchase Meijer gift cards for them. We think that this is the best way to provide for immediate needs of groceries and gas. As many of us know, working in tipped positions you sometimes live shift to shift working for cash and this is devastating to some employees. All of the profits from this tee shirt will be donated toward the gift card fund and provide relief for the families affected.

Rockford Brewing Company:
Rockford Brewing will be hosting a fundraiser this Tuesday, August 22th from 11am-11pm.
15% of sales (Dine-In & Take-Out) will be donated to the Staff at the Corner Bar.

For Corner Bars staff, unemployment will not be available because they were working as tipped or part-time employees. We are using the funds raised and coordinating with Corner Bar management to distribute and help the staff out.
We also have employment opportunities available to those in need. Please reach out to us if you’re interested in a position at Rockford Brewing via email at employment@rockfordbrewing.com

Community Day: Rockford Relief

Following the devastating fire at The Corner Bar local businesses have organized a Community Day to benefit those who lost their jobs. Many Rockford stores and restaurants are participating by donating a portion of their sales to the “Rockford Relief” fund on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday will kick-off the “shop for a cause” event and information packets will be available at River & Co. studio at 116 Courtland starting at 11:00 am (8/17). You can also bring your kids to fill out a “Thank You” note for the local and neighboring police and firefighters who responded.

Why are funds being raised?: For many of the staff, unemployment will not be available because they were working as tipped or part-time employees. We are using the funds raised to purchase Meijer gift cards and coordinating with Corner Bar management to distribute them. We think that this is the best way to provide for immediate needs of groceries and gas.

As many of us know, in tipped positions you sometimes live shift to shift working for cash and this is devastating to some employees. Even if a server or bartender were to find a job immediately, they would be required to train a couple of weeks before receiving tips. This stop in cash flow could prevent them from paying for necessities for their families. Our goal is to bridge that gap and provide some financial relief so they can transition to a new job smoothly.

UCCELLOS

Due to the overwhelming (& AMAZING) response we’ve seen for our Uccello’s Corner Bar Fundraiser, we have decided to do just a little bit more…

Our Corner Bar Fundraiser will be this Thursday-Saturday from 4pm-Close at the Rockford Uccello’s – 15% of Sales (Dine-In & Take-Out) will go to the Corner Bar Team! We also have donation jars in the restaurant!

Thank you to everyone in our community for the support. Together, we can rebuild what was lost!
