Jason Biggerstaff

Biggerstaff (Belmont) – Captain Jason Christopher Biggerstaff, MD aged 27 of Belmont, currently serving a surgical residency at Madigan Hospital in Tacoma, WA with the US Army, passed away due to accidental injuries on July 12, 2011.

Captain Biggerstaff, MD was preceded in death by his father, David and grandfather, Robert. Surviving are his mother, Mary Alice; sister, Kelly (Robert) Scholey; brothers, Jeremy (Nichole) and Joseph Biggerstaff; his nieces, Taylor, Carly and Rian Scholey, Madelyn; grandmothers, Marilyn Biggerstaff, Helen Rohn; several aunts and uncles.

Following his graduation from Rockford High School in 2002, Jason attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. He concluded his undergraduate studies at Brandeis University in 2006 receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with high honors. In May of 2011 Jason received a Medical Doctorate from Boston Medical School. During his studies at BU he was recruited by the United States Army Medical Corps and accepted into the Residency Program at Madigan Hospital in Tacoma, WA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30PM Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at St Isidore Catholic Church, 628 Diamond Ave. NE., Rev. Denis Ryan, CSsR Celebrant. Jason’s family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. in Belmont., and one hour prior to Mass at Church on Wednesday. Prayers of the Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:40PM at the funeral chapel. Graveside services will take place at Plainfield Township Cemetery where Jason will receive full Military Honors.
